SpicyDare is designed to be inclusive, including for people with disabilities. The website has to reflect that: a site some people cannot use is an unfinished site.

Partially compliant
Internal self-assessment of spicydare.com, carried out in September 2026: a review of the site's code, keyboard navigation testing and checks in the browser. No third-party audit to date, so we state no compliance percentage and claim no certification. A full audit is planned, and this page will be updated with its results, including if they are worse than our own findings.

What is in place
These points were verified during the self-assessment.
- The whole site can be navigated with a keyboard, and the element holding focus is clearly marked.
- A skip link, translated into every language, leads straight to the content.
- Text contrast meets level AA on the site's dark theme.
- Headings follow in order and the main regions of the page (header, navigation, main content, footer) are identified for screen readers.
- The phone mock-ups illustrating the app are decorative: they are removed from keyboard navigation and from screen readers.
- The language picker closes with the Esc key, and focus returns to its button.
- The mobile menu opens and closes with the keyboard, and whether it is open or closed is announced.
- The system setting for reduced motion is respected: animations and transitions are switched off.
- The layout stays readable at 200% zoom and down to a screen width of 320 pixels.
- The declared language of each page matches the language of its address.
- No third-party accessibility overlay is installed: everything is handled in the site's own code.
Known limitations
We would rather name them than leave them unsaid.
- No systematic testing yet with the NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack screen readers on real devices.
- There is no French Sign Language version.
- The terms of use, the consent charter and the privacy policy are not yet offered in plain language or in easy-to-read form.
- The atmosphere photographs have no text alternative: they are decorative and carry no information the text does not already give.
- This statement covers the website. The mobile app is not covered here and will be assessed separately.
